Are there examples of myths and legends that turned out to be factual rather than literary fiction? I suppose so. In Europe, by the way, there is now an entire institute dedicated to proving the existence of dragons!
To be more specific, they examine diverse images, eyewitness testimonies, and intriguing incidents of encounters with the unexplainable.
Dragons are prehistoric dinosaurs with magical abilities. For instance, flaming or acidic breath, or – less frequently – the capacity to turn a person into stone with a single gaze. Everyone, I believe, believes in the existence of dinosaurs. At the very least, if not today, then millions of years ago!
Legends and myths
Everything is more complicated when it comes to breathing with fire. This effect might theoretically be produced due to the high quantity of bacteria in the reptile’s stomach, as well as the chemical interactions required for ignition.

A dragon would have to evolve from a distinct point in lobed-fin fish evolution, where six of these fins became specialized and evolved into limbs rather than simply four.
It’s also possible that both the pectoral and pelvic fins remained and continued to develop (maybe the top set helped stability in the water while the lower set began strolling along the bottom?).
As a result, medieval legends and myths about knights fighting ancient creatures may turn out to be more than a fairy tale!
Middle Ages
Humans are possibly the most violent organisms on Earth. Every year, hundreds of thousands of species of flora and wildlife die as a result of their activities. One may suppose that if there was an aggressive quest to destroy dragons in the Middle Ages, then they simply cannot exist today. The populace has vanished.
The last trustworthy information about French dragons dates back to the 17th century. The beginning of the 18th century in the United Kingdom. History is used to manipulate the masses. This lever, among other things, moves in strictly opposing directions depending on the political organization of this or that state.

Such a trend has been taking place for decades. As a result, it is impossible to say with certainty what happened in Europe 200-300 years ago. Epochs, rulers, and history were rewritten indefinitely.
For a long time, experts at the Institute for the Study of Dragons assumed that bones would be the most likely relics to be discovered.
Sighting in China
However, in 2019, people of Guizhou province in China began to widely discuss the sighting of a weird winged reptile in the sky. In mid-2020, an expedition was dispatched to China.
Surprisingly, a weird roar could be recorded from the ground. Geologists, physicists, and biologists have yet to find an explanation for this occurrence.

It should be noted that the hilly region of Guizhou, where the dragon was spotted, is home to hundreds of massive karst subterranean caves. Some of them have vaults that are up to 120 meters tall! Their own biosphere can be preserved in such vast cavities.
And the roar from the depths of the ground is nothing more than a dragon’s cry echoing through the dungeons. Some proponents of the dragon idea argue that, unlike in Europe, dragons were venerated and viewed as divine beings in China and nearby regions. As a result, if you’re seeking for a mythological reptile, go no further.
The paradox
Perhaps these investigations are bridging the gap between the real world and the mythical-fabulous. “Theoretically, anything can happen,” one well-known enthusiast observed, “but materialists will find it difficult to prove it.”
The paradox is that in order to prove a dragon’s existence, it must be killed. Because delivering such a creature to the laboratory alive would be incredibly difficult.
Even if scholarly brains do not believe in dragons or snowmen, these relic species will not be slaughtered for the purpose of inquiry. What are your thoughts on the existence of dragons in our world?
