The Portuguese Navy is studying a large undersea pyramid near the Azores, according to an official Portuguese news report. Some people are still debating if this is the abandoned metropolis of Atlantis or whether the pyramid is of extraterrestrial origin.
The finding of a very enormous under water pyramid initially discovered by Diocleciano Silva between the islands of So Miguel and Terceira in the Azores of Portugal was published in Portuguese news. The edifice is supposed to be completely squared and orientated by the cardinal points, according to the claims.
Discovery by mistake
Current GPS digital technology estimates the height to be 60 meters, with a base area of 8000 square meters. The Portuguese Navy’s Hydrographic Institute is presently evaluating the data to establish whether or not the structure is man-made.
“The pyramid is precisely constructed and appears to be orientated by the cardinal points,” Silva told the local newspaper Diário Insular.
A local sailor hunting for decent fishing grounds made the discovery by mistake. To find the secret pyramid, he used computerized scanning machines.
The nine Azorean islands, now known as the Azores, were discovered uninhabited by the Portuguese in 1427. Archaeologists have just uncovered ancient rock art on the island of Terceira, which they believe is thousands of years old.
Underwater for 20,000 years
On all nine islands, they have also unearthed a range of ancient archaeological remnants. They’ve been recognized as a Roman epigraph, Carthaginian sanctuaries, cave art, and megalithic buildings. It appears that these islands have a lot longer history than 1427.
The pyramid was discovered in a mid-Atlantic location that had been underwater for approximately 20,000 years. Given that this is approximately the time of the last ice age, when glacial was melting from its height 2000 years ago, any civilisation, human or not, that existed before to the ice age could have been responsible for the pyramid’s construction.
While the Portuguese Navy has yet to determine the origins, many may wonder why this was not disclosed earlier than late 2012. The NOAA, which analyzes volcanic activity in the vicinity of the pyramid, would almost certainly have detected the pyramid by sonar imaging and other means, as the area is widely investigated owing to volcanic activity.
Either the NOAA has not yet discovered it, they are concealing what they have discovered, or the pyramid does not exist. Given the veracity of the find, the last theory does not appear to be plausible.
Archaeologists from the Portuguese Association of Archaeological Research revealed evidence that people lived in the Azores for thousands of years prior to the Portuguese discovery of the group of islands in 1427.
This lends credence to the theory that an ancient civilisation was there at the time of the massive pyramid, which is now submerged.
After falling out of favor with the gods, the Greek mythological island of Atlantis sank to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.
It was first referenced more than 2,300 years ago by the legendary philosopher Plato and is generally referred to as the “lost metropolis of Atlantis.”
So far, the Portuguese Navy has not discovered the pyramid’s origins. It’s strange that this hasn’t been publicized or discovered sooner. Was it kept hidden, or had it been sitting there for years unnoticed?
What is difficult to accept is that the NOAA, which researches volcanic behavior, has intensively investigated the area for its volcanic activity. You’d think that sonar imaging would have helped them find the pyramid. So, was it kept hidden until Diocleciano Silva discovered it and made it public, or is he the first person to discover this wonderful mystery?
Some even believe it is a fraud and not real, however that hypothesis seems doubtful given that pyramids can be found all over the world and new ones are unearthed on a regular basis.
This is the real pyramid, as read by a high-tech scanning instrument. Archeologists from the Portuguese Association of Archaeological Research recently discovered evidence on Pico island that supports their belief that humans existed in the Azores region before the arrival of the Portuguese thousands of years ago, lending credence to the idea that this pyramid could have been built by different civilizations.
There is currently no explanation for who created the rock art present on the islands today. Was the pyramid created by a civilisation that existed before the Portuguese? Is it possible that it isn’t even man-made?
