The Pine Grove. Examples of Hugh Yates, a prominent landowner in this county, discovered a prehistoric race on his estate a few miles west of here. Mr. Yates discovered an enormous grave containing a human skeleton while excavating beneath a steep rock on his property.
The frame was massive in size. Mr. Yates’ curiosity piqued, he summoned some neighbors, and armed with picks, they burrowed their way into the side of the cliff and discovered an ancient sepulcher crammed with Indian skeletons, some of them larger than the first discovered. One of the frames was 12 feet long.
