A mummy unearthed in a Peruvian tomb last year with an enlarged cranium and only three fingers on each hand has a different physical structure than humans, according to Russian experts.
A team of St. Petersburg researchers has presented preliminary research findings on a human-like figure unearthed in the 5th century in Nazca, Peru.

In an analysis that has caused global criticism, Professor Konstantin Korotkov of the Russian National Research University says the mummy, dubbed Maria, has the same number of chromosomes as a human but is physically different.
Anatomical structure
According to Russian scientists, this mummy unearthed near Nazca in Peru last year may not have been human.
According to specialists, the humanoid Peruvian mummy, which has an enlarged cranium, has a separate anatomical structure from the human body.
In addition to Maria, experts are investigating a cadaver named Vavita, who died when she was nine months old, as well as four more 70cm-tall male mummies.

“Right now, we’re conducting a detailed analysis to see if the form of all the chromosomes and amino acids matches ours,” he told Russian news outlet Sputnik.
“Each of the little mummies had two arms, two legs, a head, two eyes, and a mouth.” Tomographic scanning is used to uncover their bones. The tissue is biological in nature, and its chemical composition indicates that it is human.
In addition, the Peruvian mummy has rounded ribs and just three fingers and toes on each leg.
Mummy’s rib structure
Professor Konstantin Korotkov says the 5th century Peruvian mummy could have been extraterrestrial or from an ancient society.

“They have the same 23 pairs of chromosomes as we do.” They’re all guys since they all have a Y-chromosome. They have the appearance of humans yet are not. Their anatomical structures differ.”
According to scientists, the mummy’s rib structure has an irregular, rounded shape with some semicircular bones, and it only has three fingers per hand and a head that elongates towards the back.

“Most astonishingly, the mouth cavities are present,” Mr Korotkov continued, “but the lower jaws are not flexible and exhibit a single whole with the rest of the skull.”
Scientists are still researching the genetic makeup of the Peruvian mummies and have inquired about bringing it to Russia to conclude their studies.

A Peruvian mummy was discovered in a tomb in Nazca, Peru’s southernmost city, last year and is being researched alongside five other figures.
“Maria and Vavita could have been representatives of a race that had progressed much further than we had, perhaps thousands of years ago.”
Three-fisted
Mr. Korotkov claimed that the figurines could have come from extraterrestrial origins, but he also stated that they could have come from archaic tribes.
“They were three-fisted,” he observed, “and this genetic characteristic may reveal itself in future generations.”
The mummies were discovered in Nazca, which is famous for its Nazca lines, in an arid desert region.
“Three-fingered animals have been discovered in Peruvian petroglyphic images, by the way.”

Despite the fact that the figure looks to be in far better condition than other historically found mummies from throughout the world, the early findings are important.
Researchers intend to continue researching the genetic makeup of the statues and have inquired about moving them from Peru to Russia to speed the project.
