When we look up at the night sky, it’s pretty usual to think to ourselves, even subconsciously, “Hmm…I wonder if I might spot a UFO tonight.”
This is a common notion shared by millions, if not billions, of people around the world, and with so much going on in the skies above us, it’s simple to see why.
However, many people (even the most well-heeled UFO enthusiasts) do not consider hunting for UFOs beneath the surface of the ocean or near bodies of water.
There are several reasons for this, including the murkiness of the depths, but what most people don’t realize is that UFO sightings are extremely prevalent around bodies of water, as well as in mountain passes, caves, valleys, and other sites where crafts and intelligent beings could possibly hide.
While UFO or flying saucer sightings in these places are considerably less prevalent than in the skies above us, one thing is certain – in many situations, these sightings are among the most unforgettable.
Sightings among the most unforgettable
One case was a sighting by a former US Navy Commander with a colorful history of encountering UFOs, who managed to come across one of these so-called “USOs.”
His story is now being told, and other pilots have “came out of the woodwork” to tell him about their own encounters.
After previously engaging a UFO, the pilot had a terrifying encounter with an unidentified “submerged” object
Commander David Fravor was one of the pilots who engaged the infamous Tic-Tac UFO (AKA The Nimitz Encounter) while on manuevers with the Navy’s Carrier Strike Group 11 off the southwest coast of California in 2004. The encounter was described in great detail late last year on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast.
Based on comments to his presence on the enormously famous podcast, Fravor described the “USO” incident for which he is now becoming even more well-known.
“One of the guys happened to be a Navy helicopter pilot. He was flying a CH-53, a large heavy-lifter used by the Marine Corps for certain missions. They conduct a lot of shooting off the East Coast; at the time, it was off Puerto Rico.
“The helo dumps a swimmer in the water, hooks it all up, and they fly back.” “The first time they went out to pick up a BQM, he’s sitting in the front – in the CH-53, you can see down by your feet – and as he’s looking down, they’re 50 feet (15 meters) over the water, he sees this kind of dark mass coming up from the depths,” he explained.
“[The BQM is an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) or drone; these are employed as “realistic aerial targets capable of imitating enemy threats for gunnery and missile training exercises” and can be recovered as a parachute is deployed by remote control with a flotation kit added for sea-based recovery.]”
The encounter
The encounter occurred as they began to hoist up the BQM, shocking every observer in what would become a multi-incident occurrence.
“As they hoist the BQM up, he looks at it and wonders, ‘What the hell is that?'” Warren claims.
“And then it just sinks back underwater.” When they extract the child and the BQM from the water, this thing returns to the depths.”
Fravor claims that a similar incidence occurred a few months later.
New incidence
“He’s out picking up a torpedo, and as they’re bringing him down, he sees this huge mass,” he explained.
Theories abound as to what the strange USO was, but one thing was certain, according to Fravor: it wasn’t a standard piece of military equipment, and instead appeared to be a classic example of the types of alien craft that have been observed in significant numbers in recent years.
“‘It’s not a submarine,’ he says. He’s been around submarines before. You can’t confuse a submarine with anything else after you’ve seen one. This large, circular object emerges from the depths, and he begins yelling via the intercom system to instruct them to pull the diver up, even though the diver is only a few feet from the water.”
“They reverse the winch, and the diver thinks to himself, ‘What the hell is going on?'” And then he reported that the torpedo had been sucked down underwater, and the thing had gone back into the depths. They never found it.”
